1. General
Power over Ethernet is a revolution solution
for Ethernet network communication. All of
electronics device needs power when it is in
operation and PoE can provide power and
Ethernet communication signal simultaneously
to remote device via a single Cat. 5 cable.
The PoE link
needs one Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and
one Powered Device (PD) to implement it. So
far, IEEE802.3af is the PoE standard for
normal power application and the IEEE802.3at
is the advanced version for high power PoE
application.
2. Befact Technologies PoE Embedded
Solutions (Modules)
Befact Technologies provides PoE link total
solution for normal power and high power
application. All of PoE products are
IEEE802.3af/at compliant. For high power
solutions not only provide high power mode
but also are backward compatible to normal
power application.
(1) PD Embedded Modules (Isolated
mode)
A. High Power (PoE+) PD - THPD-12 (12V/21W,
91%), THPD-50 (5V/19W), THPD-33 (3.3V/16W).
B. High Power (PoE+ 25.5W, IEEE802.3at
compliant) PD – AHPD-12 (12V/2.125A, 92%)
C. Normal Power PD - TPD-12 (12V/12W, 89%),
TPD-50 (5V/12W), TPD-33 (3.3V/12W); SPD-12
(12V/12W, 89%), SPD-50 (5.1V/12W).
(2) PSE Embedded Modules
A. High Power (PoE+) Quad Port PSE – PSE-HQD
(maximum current - 650mA/port).
B. Normal Power Quad Port PSE – PSE-QD
(maximum current – 450mA/port).
3. Implement Single Voltage Power Supply PoE
Enabled Ethernet Switch by PSE-QD, PSE-HQD,
TPD and THPD Module
The PoE enabled Ethernet switch needs two
primary power sources, one is for PSE module
(typical 48Vdc) and another one is low
voltage power source (example - 12Vdc /
5Vdc) for Ethernet switch, CPU, Flash
memory, RAM,… and so on. So, the power
supply has to source two different and
isolated output voltages; alternative
solution is an isolated DC/DC power module
equipped to be as the low voltage power
source for Ethernet switch, CPU, Flash
memory, RAM,… and so on.
Now, Befact
Technologies provides an easy, quick and low
threshold solution to implement PoE enabled
switch. The SPD, TPD , AHPD or THPD module
can be as an isolated primary low voltage
DC/DC power source for CPU, Flash memory,
RAM and peripheral circuits and share the
same primary power source (typical 48Vdc)
with PSE-QD or PSE-HQD module.
